I love this time of year!  Not only because it snows on my blog (which I still think is cool) but because of the spirit of the season.  The weather, for the most part, is awesome and the decorations always put me in the spirit of Christmas!

I just wanted to take a second to thank all of my clients and their support for this past year.  Each and every one of you have trusted me with your precious moments to capture them forever.  I have heard so many kind words about my work and I appreciate them all!  In the year to come I look forward to meeting many more clients, catching up with current clients and offering many more options to you.  As always, if there are any ideas you have or want me to offer any other products… please let me know!  I will do my best to fulfill your requests.

Please make sure to book any sessions by December 31st in order to lock in the 2010 prices!  This goes for weddings, engagement, bridal, boudoir, family, children, senior… you name it!  Thank you all for your continued support of my personal dream.  You cannot know how much it means to me that you appreciate my work and see the beauty that I do.  May all of you have a safe and happy Holiday Season.

Anti-bride

I love to surf the net and find all sorts of blogs that give me a new perspective.  I follow cooking ones, photography ones, wedding ones…. anything that catches my attention.  I stumbled upon an article the other day that mentioned a new iphone application called “anti-bride” and it perked my interest.  I downloaded it (for free) and looked around.  I think it’s so cool!  They say it’s “Tying the knot outside the box” and I think it’s a really cool site!  Nowadays every bride wants to be different, they don’t want to have the same wedding that their best friend just had… that wouldn’t be any fun and who wants 2nds???  If you are a bride to be and want some new ideas, check it out!  You can get the app on your iphone or just visit the blog  http://www.antibride.com/ they also facebook, tweet and myspace.  =)

The only other blog I wanted to share today is this one… I actually found if off the anti-bride blog.  Bridetide.com they have blogged about the 100 top wedding blogs.  If you want to know anything about weddings in a blog, check it out!   http://bridetide.blogspot.com/2010/01/top-100-wedding-blogs-and-twitters-to.html#budget I’ve only gotten through the first 20 or so and I’ve found all sorts of cool info!  One of the first ones that I clicked was http://www.greylikesweddings.com/ if you want to smile and then about cry watch the video posted on 11/24 it’s so sweet!

Ok, enough about weddings…  it’s the holidays and time to spend with family and I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope that each of you enjoy the time with family and friends.

Chris and Wendi were married October 9th in Ruston, LA at Windsong Farms.  This is a beautiful setting and we had so much fun!  Chris & Wendi love old cars and trucks…  it was only right that we took advantage of the old truck out front.  Chris’ uncle even brought over his cavalier for them to take pictures with.  Chris & Wendi, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

You may recognize Amanda from a boudoir shoot I did last year…. or you may not =)  She has lost over 100 lbs and looks great!  Her husband is in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan last year, which was why she did the boudoir shoot for him.  Now, he’s back and she’s looking great so they needed to update their family pictures.  I’m so happy they chose me to do this! =)  We had so much fun during our last shoot because Amanda is so funny and has an infectious laugh, you can’t help but have fun with her.  I can see why this couple was made for each other, he is just like her!  They are the cutest couple!  They goofed off and we got some amazing shots.  I also met their son Aiden this time, he is adorable and 100% boy.  Amanda’s mom and dad even got in on the picture taking.

After the family pictures, we got a chance to get some couple time in.  It sprinkled on us and the sun shined a little but we just kept on going.  They didn’t care that it was sprinkling on and off, we just kept having fun.  Finally after a couple of hours of shooting and TONS of pictures, we were done.  Just in time too!  It started raining while we were on the way back to our cars.  Thank you Byrd family for letting me capture your memories!  I had a blast and can’t wait to do it again.

As you can see, I couldn’t just choose a few pics to post there were so many good ones!

Believe it or not, spring will be here before we know it!  Spring brings beautiful flowers and warm weather… I cannot wait!  Start scheduling your family sessions now, don’t wait until the last minute.  Don’t forget, Easter is Sunday April 4th.  I know that all of my Saturday’s in March are booked with weddings and events, but I still have Sundays and days in the week open!!!

Also, wedding season has started!!!  Call me before you make your final decision, I offer affordable prices and excellent quality!  Drop me a line before your wedding date is booked by someone else.  You won’t be sorry you did!!!

Meet Jason, Sandi & Dixie!  Jason & Sandi are getting married in March so we did their engagement shoot last Saturday.  It was pretty cold and snow was still on the ground in some places from the day before, but we had a lot of fun.  They brought their dog Dixie, she was so cute, so she got in on the fun too!  They are such a sweet couple!

Congratulations Jason & Sandi!  It’s going to be so much fun at the wedding, I can’t wait!

The new year is off to a great start!  I have already had one wedding and have 5 more booked so far!  Not to mention my boudoir, family, engagement & bridal sessions scheduled.  Remember that if you want to book a session, of any kind… call or email me!

I love what I do!  It’s such a wonderful feeling to know that I have captured someone’s memories and that they have invited me to be a part of their lives.

Thank you to all of my clients for trusting me with your memories!

Moments ago I looked outside to see the first snow of the year!  Keeping in mind that I am in Louisiana & it won’t stick but it puts me in the holiday spirit anyway. =)

I am now taking appointments!!!  I was out of the picture for a while due to medical reasons but I am doing great and ready to get back to work!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I had a few sessions with my sisters, which turned out great!  I also had a session with an old friend Amy and her fiance Andy.  It was so much fun & I couldn’t have asked for better weather!   Here’s a sample of the sessions…

Ok, I know that I haven’t posted a blog in a while… sorry!  To play catch up I’m posting a couple of collages just to let you in on a little bit of what I’ve been up to.

This is Eleigha, Sean and thier daughter McKenzie.  We had a great time in downtown just walking around and snapping some pics.  Thanks for letting me capture part of your life.  I’m excited to take some pics of the new baby boy!!!

Also, the beautiful brunette is Emily.  My neice will be a senior next year and we have been taking some senior pics when we get a chance.  These were taken in Prattville, Alabama when we went home to see Courtney’s family.  She’s growing up and will be leaving for college in a year.  =(   She’ll be ok though, she’s smart and got a good head on her shoulders.

She did our boudior shoot in May and she was so easy to work.  She has natural beauty.  So, here’s my beautiful best friend! =)

Amanda had this session to give the memory book to her hubby who is currently deployed to Iraq.  She was a blast!  Lisa and I could hardly take the pictures because she kept us laughing.  We did this session at Lisa’s house and it had a great sunroom that let us use the natural light.

Amanda had a lot of fun doing this too!  She was so much fun and up for anything.  Take a look at how beautiful they turned out!  She was a beautiful model and I hope to do some more pics for her sometime!

Pray our soldiers who are serving our country!  Pray for all of the Army wives and familes too… they are stronger than anyone else I know!

Sorry for being MIA lately but I’m playing catch up with my blog!

On St. Patrick’s Day I had so much fun with two beautiful and playful girls, Brenna & Baylor!  These girls were running and playing all over Beidenharn.  Making them sit still was not possible.  That was fine with me, I just ran along with them, along with Brandy and Brandon (the proud parents) we were able to keep up with them most of the time.  Enjoy!

On Feb 27th I had a shoot with 2 beautiful angels!  I had a blast working with Micheal and Chelsea!  Micheal just had his 2nd birthday and Chelsea is just over 3 months, here are some of the pics from that shoot!

Thanks Nick and Megan for letting me take thier pictures!  I’m glad you liked them! =)

Well, Friday night brought lots of fun and tons of pictures.  After, over 5 hours of shooting, our cameras were both full.  We had a blast and so did the 5 ladies that showed up to bring out their inner diva.  We are working hard to get these edited and out as quickly as possible.  I know the girls are anxious to get them to their hubbies.

To start off, here is a sneak preview of Terry.  Her husband is currently serving our country in Iraq.  She wanted to give him a special surprise for Valentine’s day.  She let loose and had a great time.  Terry, we had a blast and you looked great!  Enjoy!

Speaking of Diva’s!!!  We had so much fun last Friday.  Buffie had the whole night to herself.  Missy and I met Buffie and her sister Kristie in Rayville to have a fun night!  Buffie’s already a Diva, and it shows.  She wanted the vintage pin up girl look for her pics.  She was perfect – the hair, nails, make-up, clothes and poses.  We all had our suitcases and they were full of feathers, clothes, props, jewelry.  Turned on some music and had a blast!

Take a look for yourself!  You can tell we had fun doing this!

Oh yeah, one more plus… we have reduced the price to make it affordable for more beautiful women.  Book now!  You get  2 professional photographers, a soft bound 5×5 memory book, a full 1 hour session and a high resolution CD with all of your completely edited images and a copyright release.

Ok ladies…you have thought about it long enough and time is going to run out if you don’t act soon! This is not about how you look posing half naked..It’s not about how you need to lose that extra 10 or 20 pounds or even about getting some color on that skin of yours. Who says you even have to take your clothes off? Someone just mentions “boudoir” and you immediately think nude!! Come on, personally I think a woman looks sexier covered up…its all about how you feel about yourself. It’s about confidence, your smile, a silhouette, your hair falling on your shoulder…the back of your neck…heck, even your FEET! Get yourself a pedicure, some really fabulous shoes and let your hair down….

So, I am wondering who gets more out of professional erotic photos– the men who receive them as a gift or the women who give it to their man? When a woman, who maybe has some body issues, gets to see herself as an erotic being, I’d imagine that gives her a new sense of confidence; in fact, some boudoir photographers say it does exactly that.

Sags, wrinkles, bags, cellulite- they can’t compete with lingerie, soft lighting, the right angle and perfect position with a come hither look. I can assure you will be pleased with the results… (so will he!)

We still have some sessions available. Friday January 23rd 6:30, Friday January 30th 8:30

1 hour session with 2 photographers, 5×5 professionally soft bound memory book, CD with your images & copyright release~ your cost is only $100.00

I guess we are back to the cold weather… at least for a few days anyway.  Yesterday I had a great day!  Courtney’s neice Emily had her latin club get together “Jazzum” at Austin’s in Monroe.  Before the evening started, I did her hair as her mother did her nails.  Then after she got dressed, off we went to take some pictures before the big event.  First we went to the boardwalk in Monroe, then down the street in front of Austin’s.  Then we got to go inside of Austin’s before anyone was there.  I was so excited to get to go into Historical Austin’s, it is so beautiful!  So was Emily!  =)

We went all over Austin’s taking pictures… in the window, at the bar upstairs, the stairs and even the old phone booth.  After that we still had enough time to hit the raidroad tracks and trenton street.  I had a blast!  Thanks Em for letting me take all the pictures!  You are beautiful!  The whole family has said how much they love the pictures, so I wanted to share them with everyone else!  I hope you enjoy the pictures and I’m sure you will agree…  This is beauty!

Every Woman is Beautiful

Everyday we see images of what beauty should look like. /l;56; The everyday woman is not a super model and we never will be… but we are beautiful!  Every woman should be empowered by how they look and feel.  Even if you don’t think that you are the most beautiful woman in the world… someone does.  We have a right to feel sexy no matter what size we wear, large or small, short or tall… Every woman is beautiful!

Ladies, do you have a special someone that you want to surprise with a sexy gift for valentine’s day?  Maybe for your wedding gift to your future husband?  Want to spice up your relationship and remind them what they have at home?  What ever the reason, I have a special event just for you!

Ok here are some answers to question you might have….

What is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir Photography is a tasteful, classic, beautiful, sexy way for the modern woman to appreciate herself and her body.  Often these images are given as a gift to a significant other, but the gift you give yourself may be even more  valuable.
Do I have to undress and/or wear revealing clothes?
Absolutely NOT… Being sexy does not mean you have to be nude and/or dressed slutty. Being sexy means you being you in whatever makes you FEEL sexy. Or whatever you think he would love to see you in…for example: that cute little tank top and pj bottoms that you think is really cute…or his business shirt and tie with some really cute jeans…maybe its your wedding dress and veil that has been boxed up for a few years.. And it ‘ even have to be full body shots…. waist and/or neck up can be really glamorous to!
Who are these images for?
They are for the bride who wants to give her groom the most unbelievable gift. They are for the wife and mother of 3 whose husband could use a reminder he married the sexiest woman on the planet. They are for the woman who wants to feel like a supermodel. They are for EVERY woman!

My Policy:

My Policy on Boudoir Images is no full nudity. I will never ask you to pose nude. I work with implied nudity only which means you are covered with either your clothing, your hands, or an object.  I view any nudes as extremely private in nature and will be between you and whomever you wish to share them with.

I’m interested…What’s Next?

If you are interested in booking a boudoir session please contact me to schedule a date!

Where is the session?

Typically I am an on-location photographer. This means I would come to you!  If you don’t want to use your home, arrange to use a friend’s home or better yet rent a hotel room.  I have had clients that get a group of friends together and they rent a room and make a night of it.  If you schedule more than 3 shoots in one day you’ll get a discount on yours.

But  I don’t know how to pose!
Don’t worry, we will guide you through the poses and make sure you look fabulous in them all.

What if I’m not happy with my weight or shape? Should I wait?
No, you don’t need to wait at all.  Everyone has their own unique beauty, and that’s what I will bring out in these shoots. I will retouch the images in editing however, I will NOT alter your photos- They will be “enhanced” in a glamorous style.

How do I know he’ll like them?

Trust me, he’ll like them. Why wouldn’t he like his own private collection of photos of you looking sexy, classy and confident. He will love them! He is a man, trust me…if he enjoys a little sexy picture once in a while, shouldn’t it be YOU?

**OK so if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I will be glad to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

**for mature women only**     **NO NUDITY**

Wow, 2008 went by so fast!  I can honestly say that in the past year we have been blessed.  We had a great Christmas and, as always, it didn’t last long enough.  I just hate to take down the tree and decorations.  We’ve enjoyed many good times with friends and family.

For Christmas, Drew and Abby got some new toys from thier Nana.  They love the holidays too!  I just wanted to share some pictures of Abby out in the yard….  Drew is pretty camera shy and doesn’t like pictures.

I am looking forward to an exciting year to come!  I hope everyone has a blessed 2009.  Happy New Year!

This weekend we took a trip to Alabama to visit Courtney’s family…..  Ok let me stop right here and explain that there are 2 of us, both named Courtney, I’m Courtney Sorensen and she is Courtney Dozier.  Anyway, the trip was good but as always, too short!  The stay, not the drive, lol.  We had a good drive down Friday, we stopped in Jackson to have Debra and Anna keep the babies.  THANK YOU!  Then off to Prattville.  We didn’t get there until about 1:30am.  Saturday we shopped around town a little then went to Courtney’s dad’s house.  The food was GREAT, the company even better!  We took some family pics and had fun playing with her nephew and opening presents.  All and all, even though it was a long trip, it was a good one.  We always enjoy spending time with her family.  Just wish we all lived closer so we could do it more often.  A big Thank You to Dora for all of the great food… and I’m going to need that cake recipe for my own collection. =)

I just realized that I never blogged about the senior shoot that I did with Missy for Carl.  Together Missy and I took over 700 pictures that day.  We had a blast, he was fun to work with and didn’t really object to any of our crazy ideas.  We must have walked about 3 miles that day, we shot in West Monroe down by antique alley all the way up to the tracks and in Monroe all the way from the rail road tracks to the boardwalk.  Here are some of the pics I took that day, there were so many and it’s really hard to choose the best ones.  Enjoy!

Now let me know what you think!  Please!

Ok, so I finally got my internet installed yesterday.  I can now upload some pics to show off some of my work.  These are pictures from family Christmas shoots and my family at Thanksgiving.

I have to thank Missy for always helping and keeping me laughing.  We work together everyday all week and then after work or on the weekends we are shooting all over town.  We have had a ton of fun and look forward to 2009 to have even more adventures.  We work great together and have a lot of fun doing it.  We also have a ton different ideas.  Between the both of us we can do amazing things!

Hope you like the preview of my work and come back often and check out what’s going on.  Don’t forget, if you want to schedule a setting, just drop me a line and we will see what you have in mind.  I’m up for just about anything.  Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

Taking some time off

At this time I am taking some time off from shooting sessions and weddings. I am due to have my first child in May and will be spending time with her and my family.
I will resume shooting sessions and weddings in the fall. Please contact me if you would like to schedule a shoot or wedding starting in August 2014.
